Two children and one adult were killed and three people were critically injured in traffic accidents over the weekend.

Killed were:

K.C. Berry, 7, Garland, Box Elder County
Rachael Brown, 10, Syracuse
Troy Suarez, 29, West Valley City

- Berry was riding his bicycle out of a driveway at 9216 N. 11600 West in Thatcher, Box Elder County, about noon Saturday, when he was hit by a car driven by Debra Tolman, 32, Tremonton. He died at Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton.

Tolman swerved to the opposite side of the road after the collision and hit a utility pole. Tolman and her daughter Stephanie, 3, were wearing seat belts and were not injured. No citations were issued, a Utah Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

- Brown died Saturday shortly before 7 p.m. after the car she was riding in, driven by Kyle Schwartz, Syracuse, turned left into the south gate of Hill Air Force Base and collided with a car driven by Wallie Vickers, Layton.

Two other passengers in Schwartz's car were seriously injured. Amanda Harvey, 9, Syracuse, was flown to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, where she remained in critical condition Monday. Kristine Schwartz, 4, was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center, where she was upgraded to serious condition Monday.

Kyle Schwartz, Vickers, and Vickers' passenger, Terrell Sorensen, Layton, suffered minor injuries. The accident is under investigation, and no citations have been issued.

- Suarez died at LDS Hospital at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, after a pickup truck collided with his car at 4100 S. Redwood Road. Suarez's passenger, his 75-year-old grandfather Archie Reed, of Kemp, Texas, was critically injured and taken to University Hospital, where he was upgraded to serious condition Monday.

The one-ton pickup threw Suarez's car out of the intersection and onto a 3-foot-high concrete retaining wall.

The driver of the truck, Thomas G. Rolfe, 18, Kearns, and his passenger, Travis Mansfield, 20, also of Kearns, suffered minor injuries. No citations have been issued pending further investigation.
