Christopher Blanchard, for 54 years a resident of Fredericksburg died at his home here, Sunday at 5:40 o'clock in the afternoon.
Born is Alsaice Lorraine on December 7, 1857 he had attained the age of 84 years, 11 month and 8 days.
He came to America in 1870 and 1872 to Fredericksburg where he resided since.
Being a life long member of the Catholic Church and a charter member of the St. Joseph's Verein. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9:15 o'clock from the Schaetter Funeral Home and St. Mary's Church. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery. Father Henkes conducted the services.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Catharina Blanchard, nee Stehling with whom he united in marriage May 1st. 1879 and six children, Gregor of Houston; Mrs. H. B. Halfmann of Ballinger; Felix of San Antonio; Leo J. and Mrs. G. B. Berger of Fredericksburg and Emil of Stephenville, Texas; five grandchildren other relatives and numerous friends. Three sons, Joseph, Hugo and Werner, Three brothers, John, Peter and Nicolai and a sister Barbara preceded him in death.
