On Thursday evening, January 16, Ruth Bierschwale, 2 years and 27 days, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst O. Bierschwale died of influenza. Her father, Ernst Bierschwale, 33, bookkeeper at the Bank of Fredericksburg died of influenza on Friday, January 17 at :15 a.m. The double funeral was held on Friday afternoon. Mrs. Bierschwale, nee Rosa Hartmann, died Saturday, January 18 at 9 p.m. The daughter of Fritz Hartmann and the late Mrs. Hartmann, she was the tenth victim of the cruel disease influenza out of this once happy family within less than a year.
