Cecelia was the daughter of Jackson Metzger and Rose Margaret Sofie. Her maternal grandparents were Carl Antonio Sofie and Maria Brigida Fezzuoglio. She married James E. Wise at Port Townsend, Washingon on 1 January 1937.

Former longtime Port Townsend resident Cecelia Mae Wise died in Atascadero, Calif., of age-related causes. She was 93.
She was born to Jack and Rose (Sofie) Metzger in Port Townsend, where she graduated from high school.
She married James E. Wise in the rectory of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Jan. 1, 1937.
In addition to being homemaker, Mrs. Wise excelled at playing golf and cards. She was a member of Atascadero Bible Church. Her husband died Oct. 18, 1995. She moved to Atascadero in 2000.
Mrs. Wise is survived by daughter and son-in-law Barbara W. and Robert J. Clark of Atascadero, brother Robert E. Lee of Port Townsend, sister Dolly Campbell of Federal Way, five grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Peter H. Wise and brother-in-law Ralph Campbell.
Services: Aug. 22, 7 p.m., memorial at Fort Worden State Park pier in Port Townsend.
Her ashes will be scattered at sea, also in Port Townsend. Chapel of the Roses, Atascadero, was in charge of cremation.
