Lonnie "Lon" Reeves was born in June of 1879 to Jacob and Caroline (Cox) Reeves. He was the fourth of six children; William, Charlie, Laura Reeves, Elisabeth and Isabella Reeves.

When his mother remarried (George Goins) after the death of his father, they had two additional brothers; Zacariah Thomas and Daniel Mentry Goins.

In a relationship prior to his marriage, Lonnie and Lena Moses became the parents of John Fred Moses on January 4, 1898.

November 7, 1900, Lon joined in holy matrimony with Ollie Beatrice Parks, daughter of Riller Parks. To this union three sons were born; Lennie Matthew, Raymond Kermit, and William Leon.

On November 6, 1960, Lon was called from labor to rest.
