Phale Dophis Hale Jr., age 63, went home to the Lord Sunday, July 5, 2009, at the Ohio State University Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind. He moved with his parents to Columbus, Oh. when he was four years of age and attended East High School, Champion Jr. High, and Eastwood Elementary School.
Phale was President of Phale D. Hale Education Consulting Inc., located in Washington, D.C. During his 40 years, after completing a Bachelor's Degree from Howard University, and a Master's Degree from New York University, he has worked with urban, suburban, and rural school systems.
He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Phale D. Hale, Sr., who passed five weeks before Phale Jr.
Phale is survived by his mother, Cleo Ingram Hale; sisters, Dr. Janice Ellen Hale and Marna A. Hale; brother, Hilton Ingram Hale; nephews, Richard Pace, Jr. and Keith A. Benson, Jr.; special cousins, Ralph Y. Grier (Vinette), Renee Grier, Wesley Hale (Christopher Hale, son), Layden Hale, Jr. (Layden III, Amber, Joshua, children); foster nephews, Deante and Deandre George; and aunts, Mrs. Juanita Harris and Mrs. Ann Moorman.
