Herbert 'Herb' Zech, 63, of Ravenna died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Congregational Church in Ravenna. The Rev. Darrell Holzinger will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Zech was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Nebraska City to William and Erna (Thomas) Zech of Julian. He was raised on a farm in the Julian area and graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1955.
He married Judy Straw on May 30, 1959, in Julian. He farmed in the Nebraska City and Peru area before moving to Ravenna in 1977. He continued to work in the agricultural field.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Jan Carter of Minden; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brad Zech of Ravenna and Brian and Kim Zech of Nebraska City; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two
brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Helen Zech of Plattsburg, Mo., and Carl and Carol Zech of Smyrna, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
