A. Fred Richan. GRIDLEY - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for A. Fred Richan, 85 of Gridley, who died Sunday at a local hospital.

Richan was born March 9, 1897, in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He came to Gridley six years ago from Los Angeles, where he was employed for 30 years as a gravel truck driver.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gridley.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; four brothers, Lloyd of Ogden, Utah, Walter of Prairie City, Ore., and Clyde and Charles, both of Ruth, Idaho; a sister, Ina Simpson of Rupert, Idaho; Four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A son, Carl, died in 1972.

Officiating at the funeral will be Bishop Robert Fife of the Mormon Church in Gridley. Burial will be at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at the Gridley Block Funeral Chapel. - Contributed by Arlene Gertsch, via email February 23, 2022.
