David Ray Fenton, age 84 of Fairfield, passed away, Monday, May 25, 2015 at Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield, IA.

David was born October 16, 1930 in Batavia to James and Edith(Ridgway)Fenton. He married Marilyn Bradfield October 16, 1953 at First United Methodist Church, Ottumwa, IA. This last year they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

David graduated from Parsons College with Bachelor's Degrees in Math and Physics. He lived in the Batavia and Fairfield area all his life. David worked for 42 years at The Dexter Company, retiring as Director of Engineering. He farmed most of his life.

David was a 32nd Degree Mason, Past Master of Batavia-Kilwinning #198; he also held the title of Consistory. He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #258 of Douds. David served on the Cardinal School board for 14 years. He was a member of Bladensburg Christian Church where he served as Elder, Board Chairman and Sunday school teacher. David was a former board member o Travel Club of Libertyville.

David is survived by his wife, Marilyn Fenton of Fairfield, IA; 4 children, Rayanne(Michael)Shannon of Minot, ND, Julie(Robert)Ridgely of Sioux City, IA, Brian Fenton of Ankeny, IA and Steve(Angela)Fenton of St., Charles, MO; 7 grandchildren, Derek Shannon, Erin Brand, Emily Dodd, Joshua Ridgely, Aaron Ridgely, Clayton Fenton and Nathan Fenton; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Fenton of Mayfield, KY; and one sister, Mary Evelyn (Allan)Augustine of Agency, IA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Fenton.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 pm Friday, May 29, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held 5:30 pm, prior to the visitation. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Bladensburg Christian Church, Bladensburg, IA with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be at Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, IA. Memorials can be made to Bladensburg Christian Church.
