Jason T. West Sr. “Big Jake“, 52, of Logan, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
He was born June 16, 1962 in Logan, Ohio, the son of Raymond “Dick” and Norma McQuaide.
He was married to his childhood crush of 25 years, Betty West, who survives.
He was an operator engineer with Hi-Way Paving for over 25 years; he loved his kids, grandbabies and family; no matter who you are, he enjoyed putting a smile on your face.
He is survived by son, Jason (Michelle) West of McArthur; daughters, Crystal West of McArthur, Leslie (Jeremy) Fraley of Logan, and Alesia West of Logan; six grandchildren, Madison, Dillon, Phillip, Jeremy “JJay“, Luke, and Dakota “Koo“; brother, Raymond (Rhonda) McQuaide of Logan; sisters, Kelly (Tom) Perry of Logan, Vickie (Marcie) West of Lancaster, and Christy West of Logan; many nieces and nephews; and special friends; his brothers from Hi-Way Paving; and also survived by great-grandmother, Kathryn Mowery.
He is preceded in death by grandson, Noah Todd West; brother, Johnny McQuaide; grandparents, Earnest and Letha Graham; uncle, Edwin Kelley; and brother-in-law, Danny Boals.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday Dec. 8, 2014 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, with the Rev. Virgil Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
