Christopher was born on August 12, 1926, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Charles Horn and Ersel Fae (Pugsley) Horn.
Christopher married Helen Joan Allemeier on July 21, 1957. She survives in Lima, Ohio. He retired from Lima Correctional Facility as a security guard and later as an Activity Therapist. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as an MP. Mr. Horn was a member of the Mt. Union United Brethren Church. He was a Life Member of the D.A.V. and American Legion Post #96. He was an Artist and a poet. He sold over 500 paintings and taught painting at several places as well as writing instruction booklets. He was an Alexander Certified Instructor/T.E.A.M. Teachers. He was the past editor of the D.A.V. Newsletter State of Ohio; Past 3rd District Commander of D.A.V; and was a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists.
He is survived by a two sons, Michael Allan Horn, of Lima and Michael Joseph (Phyllis) Allemeier, of Wapakoneta, OH; a daughter, Christine A. Scott, of Denver, CO; a brother, William A. Horn, of Findlay, OH; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Rise' Marie Horn, a brother, Charlie E. Horn and sister-in-laws, Alisa Horn and Barbara Horn.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m, to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday May 28, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A graveside service will begin at 11:00 A.M.on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio. Rev. Dale Bissell will officiate. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
