Ernst Becker, who succumbed on Saturday, April 29, at 6:45 a.m., at his home in the Live Oak community, was laid to rest in services held at the Schaetter Funeral Home on Monday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church.
The Rev. Fr. F. X. Wolf officiated at the services in the church and St. Mary's Choir participated in the services. Burial was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
Becker was born on August 23, 1882 in Gillespie County, the son of Heinrich and Maria Leyendecker Becker; attaining the age of 61 years 8 months and 6 days at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage with Miss Dorathea Maria Emma Hopf, his surviving widow, on November 10, 1920. Four children, three of whom survive, were born to this union.
Surviving are the following sons; Frank Edward, Ernst Robert and Paul Heinrich. One son, Heinrich Emil, succumbed as an infant.
Brothers and sisters surviving are; Henry and Adolf of here; Regina, Mrs. Felix Keller; Mary, Mrs. Emil Tatsch of here; Ottila, Mrs. Charles Willms and Miss Emma Becker of San Antonio. One sister died in infancy.
