Billy Griggs, 83, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. Visitation will begin at 11 AM Friday with funeral services to be held at 1 PM at Ashport Baptist Church where he was a member. Burial will follow in Ripley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Griggs was a retired corporal at Ft. Pillow State Penetentiary and caretaker at Open Lake. He was also a United States Army Veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He is survived by 3 daughters Deborah Ballard, Brenda Faye Moffatt, and Sandra Meadows all of Ripley; a son James Michael Griggs of Ripley; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Billy Lynn Griggs.
