Sylvia Mae Cross, 102, of Owaneco, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at 10:10 a.m. at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville, IL. She was born December 21, 1912 in Owaneco, IL, the Daughter of Herman Fred and Nanette Grace (Hall) Rodefelt. She married Andrew Minks on July 14, 1932 in Benton, IL He preceded her in death in 1946. She later married Troy Cross in September of 1956 and he also preceded her in death. She was a retired housewife. She was also a Member of The First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, IL. She loved flowers, gardening and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her Daughters: Louise (Jerry) Reinders of Springfield, IL; Betty Tomei of Taylorville, IL; Son: Charles Minks of Owaneco, IL; Grandchildren: Debbie Reinders, Connie Reinders and Husand Nam Nadimi, Vickie McCaslin and Husband Kenny, Michael Minks and Wife Shelly, Dontoe Tomei, Jr. and Doug Tomei and companion Kimberly Cunningham; Great-Grandchildren: Kori Carman, Kevin Carman, Andrew Minks, Courtney Minks, Tawney Minks and Davis Tomei. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husbands, Sisters, Hazel Coleman, Stella Barding, Martha McCleary, Eleanor Moore, Dorothy Darlene Rodefelt; Brothers Earle Rodefelt, Ivan Rodefelt, Russell Rodell Rodefelt, Richard Lee Rodefelt, Leo Clark Rodefelt and Billy Rodefelt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will be in Owaneco Cemetery in Owaneco, IL. Visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
