Tuolumne resident Mary Ann (Rodgers) Whitt died Tuesday at home. She was 70.
Mrs. Whitt was born in Sonora to Douglas and Lorraine Rodgers.
She worked in bookkeeping and accounting for 35 years and as a deputy county clerk for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Guild, the Parent Teacher Association, and the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee committee. She was a board member of the Tuolumne City Museum and the Tuolumne Cemetery District.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and scrapbooking.
Mrs. Whitt was preceded in death by her mother in 1994 and father in 2001.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Wesley Whitt, of Tuolumne; her three children and their spouses, Jan and Mark Bray, of Clovis, Larry and Heather Whitt, of Tuolumne, and Laura Whitt Foerster, of Chowchilla; her siblings and their spouses, Knute and Linda Rodgers, of Placerville, and Kim and Kalen Questo, of Soulsbyville; her six grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Bray, of Clovis, Breanne, Samuel and Hannah Whitt, of Tuolumne, and A.J. Colagross, of Livermore; and and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to Tuolumne City Memorial Museum or Hospice of the Sierra.
A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tuolumne.
