Elise (Campbell) Whalley was born on November 11, 1922, the daughter of Howell Hooper Campbell (1883–1961) and Elise (Wall) Campbell (1891–1971).
She graduated from Ward Belmont High School, Mount Vernon Junior College in Washington DC and from Vanderbilt University where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity.
Elise was a member of the Junior League of Nashville, Centennial Club of Nashville, Cheekwood Society, Nashville Historical Society and Saint George's Episcopal Church.
A resident of Nashville, Tennessee, she was 92 years old when she passed away on May 26, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Elise (Whalley) Dedman, son John Donaldson Whalley Jr, her brother Howell Hooper Campbell Jr and his wife Edith Bilbra and by her sister Annie Grigsby (Campbell) Dobson and her husband Howard McChesney Dobson. Survivors included a daughter-in-law, two married granddaughters, a great-granddaughter and a number of other family members.
Funeral Services were held at Saint George's Episcopal Church, and her remains were placed in the Columbarium near those of her son and daughter.
