Wilma J. Foster, 70, of Columbus, passed from this life at 6:53 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Wilma was a Teacher for 42 years, she retired from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation in 2007. After retiring she was a volunteer at Southside Elementary School.

She was a member of the Indiana University Alumni Association and Indiana University Varsity Club.

In 2011 Mrs. Foster was inducted into the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation Education Hall of Fame.

She touched several people's lives over many generations.

A graveside service celebrating Wilma's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garland Brook Cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Southside Elementary School Library, Heifer International or donor's choice of charity.

Born in Nashville, Indiana, July 4, 1944, Mrs. Foster was the daughter of Stacy M. and Estella Deckard Dewar.

She married LeRoy J. Foster, June 5, 1964 he preceded her in death, June 19, 2008.

Survivors include her daughter, Laurie Foster of Maumelle, AR; brothers, Jim (Mary) Dewar of Edinburgh and Wes (Sue) Dewar of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
