Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2015, 2:00 PM at Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Luke Pyles, Rev. Norman Pardue and Rev. J.P. Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 28th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Hamby was born March 3, 1940 in Wilkes County to Garlon Alonzo and Minnie "Lutrelle" Hamby. He is the Owner of Bobby Hamby Lumber Co. Inc. and Bobby Hamby Concrete Co. Inc. Mr. Hamby is a member of Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as Deacon, was on the Cemetery Committee and also served as an Usher. He was a Gideon.
In addition to his Father, Mr. Hamby was preceded in death by a sister; Ruby Hamby and a brother; Rex Hamby.
Mr. Hamby is survived by his wife Opal of the home, his mother; Lutrelle Hamby of Ferguson, two sons; Bobby " Keith" Hamby and Karen of Wilkesboro, Timothy " Tim" Kirk Hamby and Lynette of Wilkesboro, five sisters; Brenda Hartley and Frank of Wilkesboro, Kate Lambert and Jerry of Wilkesboro, Jean Pierce and Danny of Millers Creek, Shelia Vannoy and Gary of Millers Creek, Shae Huffman and Doug of Ferguson, three brothers; Danny Hamby and Judith of Ferguson, Jerry Hamby and Janice of Patterson, Perry Hamby and Gail of Boomer, three grandchildren; Hannah Hamby, Matthew Hamby and Baby Boy Hamby due in September 2015, one great-grandchild; Aaron Hamby.
