Myron George "Mike" Abbott, 80, of Grants Pass died Sunday, Aug. 18, 1996, at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Bishop Craig Dietz officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Dec. 12, 1915, at Delta, Utah. On Sept. 19, 1945, at Las Cruces, N.M., he married the former Juanita F. Ferrell. In 1950 he moved to Grants Pass from Bakersfield, Calif. He worked for Pacific Power for 30 years, retiring in 1978.

Abbott was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Grants Pass First Ward.

He enjoyed fishing and watching football on TV.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Little of Gilroy, Calif.; four sons, Charles Pelkey of Grants Pass, James Abbott of Grants Pass, Larry Abbott of Bothell, Wash., Don Abbott of Loveland, Colo.; two brothers, Dean Abbott of Las Vegas and Lemuel Abbott of Springfield, Utah; a sister, Donna Edwards of Bunkerville, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
