MOORE, Cedric James "Jim" age 79 of Vandalia, passed away Monday July 31, 2006 at the V.A. Hospice Unit in Dayton. Jim was born June 21, 1927 in Wise Co., VA, son of the late Frank & Stella Moore. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, a retired employee of General Motors and was a retired member of the Butler Twp. Fire Dept. Jim was a long time resident of Vandalia. He was preceded in death by his son Tony, and 13 brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by his wife Nancy; daughters Connie & husband Stan Arms of Troy and Terri Moore & husband Jim Slivnek of Springboro; sons Shaun & wife Marilyn Moore of Tipp City and Tim & wife Janice Moore of South Dakota; one brother Jack Moore of Maryland; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 4 at 10:00am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Deborah Hept officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Jim's memory.
