In 1966/1967, Cliff changed his name from Kopejtka to DeLong. Clifford was using the name of Clifford Bernard DeLong; this was to distance himself from his real name due to his 1951 conviction for Grand Larceny and served prison sentence. On a 1969 Railroad Worker Application he even falsely listed his father as Joseph DeLong.
The name change is noted on his Social Security Application forms.
