Son of Isaac Merritt Singer and his last wife, Isabella Eugenie Boyer. Graduate of Cambridge University. It is alleged Paris had a first marriage after graduating from Cambridge, but this marriage was annulled early on. He marr 2) Cecelia H. A. "Lillie" Graham 22 Oct 1887 in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia Marriage Records), and they had five children (Singer): Herbert Montrose, Cecil Mortimer, Etheleen Winnaretta, Paris Graham and George Farquhar. While still marr to Lillie, Paris had a serious affair with the famous dancer Angela Isadora Duncan; they had a son, Patrick b. Paris, FR in 1910, who died very young in a motoring accident in Paris. Isadora was also to die in a motoring accident in Paris in 1927. Paris eventually divorced his wife, Lillie, about 1918-19. Paris is also well known as the owner of Singer Island off the coast of Palm Beach, FL, and developer of Palm Beach.
Paris is often referred to in census and other documents as "gentleman", with no professional occupation, although he was well educated. Following his mother's death, Paris continued to remodel the palatial home of his parents, Oldway Mansion, so he may have kept busy enough. He was one of six children of Isaac and Isabella who inherited a significant portion of their father's estate after he died in 1875, and many had multiple homes in France, England and the United States, frequently sailing between countries. It has been written that Paris' income amounted to $15,000 a week from interest alone.
The Singer genealogy mentions Paris married again 1920 or earlier Anne Charlotte Bates. They can be found on the 1920 Census living in Palm Beach. Anne was living in France in 1940.
