According to Quaker records (Crooked Run MM, Virginia) on "3 Jan 1807 Robert Rhea (sic) and Wife Rebekah (sic) (along with daughter Rebekah, Jr) granted certificate to Miami, Ohio, Monthly Meeting". According to the Quaker records (Miami, Ohio, MM) dated January 31, 1810, Robert Ray (Rhea) (sic) and wife Rebecca (along with daughter Rebeckah, Jr.) were received from Crooked Run, Virginia, MM on certificates dated 4 May 1805 and 3 Jan 1807. Robert Rea's daughter Hannah with her husband Thomas Garwood and their children had identical paperwork suggesting that they came to Ohio together. See pages 368-369 of the "Garwood Family" for a story on early life. Also see "Branches and Twigs" 1985, page 7 of the Logan County, Ohio Genealogical Society for early recollection of the Garwoods.
