Benjamin J. Price 90, of Streator, passed away Thursday May 22, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 Thursday May 28, 2015 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. Fr. Jacob Rose will officiate and conduct graveside services at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Full Military Rites including Honor Guard, Taps, and Flag Folding will be provided by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post #217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1492.

Visitation will be Wednesday From 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Elias Funeral Home, Rosary will be recited at 3:45 p.m.

Born November 17, 1924 in Streator, Illinois he was the son of Benjamin and Irene ( Smith ) Price.

He married Marie Volkman April 24, 1948 she passed away May 10, 1988, he later married June Galloway June 16, 1990, she passed away August of 2013.

Ben is survived by his children Mike (Charlene) Price of Colorado Springs, CO. Dave (Sharon) Price of Streator, IL., Fred (LeAnn) Price of Utica, IL., Jim (Judy) Price of Streator, IL., Tom (Liz) Price of Streator, IL., Kathy (Dan) Harcharik of Streator, IL., Laurie (Brian) Schmitt of Streator, IL., Daughter - in Law Chris Price of Streator, IL., grandchildren Mike (Carrie) Price, Matt (Susie) Price, Brian (Jennifer) Price, Ben (Julie Cool) Price, Heidi (Adam Missel) Price, Nathan Price, Courtney (Chad) Langrehr, Fred (Sarah) Price, Nick (Sarah) Price, McKenzie Price, Dan (Stephanie) Harcharik, Derek (Mandi) Harcharik, Holly (Kyle) Sellers,Sarah Price, Stephanie Price, and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both spouses and a son Benjamin Price Jr.

He served in the U.S Navy from 1942-1946 during WWII aboard the USS Prince William.

He retired from Owen’s Illinois Glass after 30 years.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Knights of Columbus.

Ben enjoyed selling Christmas Trees and Produce, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
