Sara Lillian Macdonald, age 90, of Climax, passed away Saturday May 23, 2015 at Adams Farms Living and Rehabilitation.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday May 24, 2015 at Bethleham United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Hutchens presiding. A graveside service will be held Monday May 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Vernon McDaniels presiding.

Sara Macdonald was born December 30, 1924 to the late James C. an Sara C. Macdonald. She was a graduate of Greensboro Sr. High School and graduated in 1948 Magnum Cum Laude from Greensboro College. She worked as a school teacher at Bethany School, and ended her career as a school teacher at Pleasant Garden Elementery and South East Junior High. Ms. Macdonald was a faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Climax, she was also a lover of animals especially cats and Bootsie and Mac were her favorites. She also loved to shop, eating at the K&W, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her special cousins Frances Ann Clayton and husband Tony, Bert Clayton, all of Greensboro, and Nancy Ann King and husband Dru of Greenwood SC.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation. Also thanks to special friends Bette Weatherly and Karon Monnett for their dedicated visits and friendship through the years.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Bethlehem United Methodist Church at 6103 Appomattox Rd. Climax NC, 27233 or Guilford County Animal Shelter.
