Rhoda C. Brown, 92, passed away April 4, 2010 in Ellsworth. She was born October 1, 1917 the daughter of Irvin H. and Fannie (Keezer) Carr.
Rhoda grew up in Mariaville. She joined the Mariaville Grange in 1932 and held many offices including Past Master. She was also a member of the Green Mountain Pomona and Maine State Grange for over 75 years. She later joined Bayside Grange #476 where she was an active member. She was a life member of Nokomis Rebekah Lodge #73 and held many offices and also the Maine Assembly Officer. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, and enjoyed helping with the suppers at grange and lodge events.
She is survived by her son, Howard of Westminster, SC. She was Aunt Rhoda to June, Clyde, Reta, Richard and Robert and by marriage to Holly, Bonnie, Dwight, Karen and Mark. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Brown; son, Lee H. Brown; two brothers; two sisters and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Brown.
An Eastern Star Service will be held 10am, Mon. April 12, 2010 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth. Private burial will be held at Pyle Cemetery, Mariaville.
