Victoria Ann Casey was born May 11, 1995, at the US Air Force Hospital at South Reislip Air Force Base in a suburb of London England. She passed away suddenly Jan. 27, 2015, at Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas.

At the time she was born, the hospital which served the personnel on the base, the US Embassy to England and the Headquarters of the 6th fleet had an abundance of births. In fact there were so many births that they ran out of bassinets and lined wooden whiskey cases with cotton batting and receiving blankets to hold the infants. By virtue of being born in England with parents who were US citizens she had dual citizenship to Great Britian and the US.

After leaving England she lived with her family on a farm near Oconto. In 1959 the family moved to Lincoln where she started elementary school. In May 1964, the family moved to Tyler, Texas and then to New Orleans, La., in August 1964. She finished high school in New Orleans then attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La., and graduated with a degree in Education.

While still in college she met and married Lyman Christian. After graduation they moved to La Place, La., and she taught various elementary grades at St. John’s school in Garyville, La. Her only child, Justin Christian, was born in 1982 while they were living in La Place. The family later moved to Grayville. While there she was a volunteer guide in period costume at San Francisco Plantation House, located on the east bank of the Mississippi River in Garyville. In the early 1990s she and Lyman divorced and Vicky lived at various locations in Louisiana.

In 2005, she moved to Houston, Texas to escape hurricane Katrina, where she lived until her death.

Vicky loved her teaching years and from letters found in her apartment, her students were very fond of her. She was an avid reader and loved philosophical discussions.

Her memorial service was June 13, 2015 at the Oconto Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Ella Mae Eggleston Casey; grandparents, Lige and Zelda Eggleston, and Claud and Violet Casey.

She is survived by her son, Justin Christian of Houston, Texas; her father and step-mother, Roger and Beverly Casey of Houston, Texas; her brother, Michael Case and his wife Yvonne of Friendswood, Texas; her sister, Julie Adams and her husband Tom of Spearfish, S.D.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
