At her late residence, on the corner of L and Division streets, Mrs. Pauline Bruce, wife of H[enry] C[lay] Bruce, at 7:30 last evening.

Her remains will be removed to Leavenworth today for interment in Mount Muncie Cemetery. Mrs. Bruce was born in Prince Edward county, Va., June 4, 1847.

Mrs. Pauline Bruce, wife of H. C. Bruce, of this city, who died on Tuesday evening, was born in Prince Edward county, Virginia June 4th, 1847, the same county and neighborhood of her husband. She was born a slave, was brought to Chariton county, Missouri, in 1855, and went to Leavenworth, Kansas, early in 1864. She was married by Rev. John Turner, of the A.M.E. Church, to H. C. Bruce, March 29th, 1864. They moved to Atchison in 1872, where they have since resided. She was the mother of six children, two girls and four boys, and leaves three children, two girls and one boy to mourn her loss. The other three boys died very young and are now resting in the family vault at Mount Muncie cemetery. She died of heart disease, after an illness of fourteen months. Her remains will be taken to Leavenworth today, the 11th, on the early train, to be laid to rest with her deceased children.
