On the 8th of March 1905 Josephine married Richard Isaac Mills. Four sons were born, Richard Elmer, Clyde William, Ray Calvin, and Ralph Swingewood Mills.
When Richard went to St. Louis he brought home Della West, in 1914 and then Josephine and he divorced.

Josephine states, "All my life I loved art and saved every little picture of scenery in hopes that some day I might paint. When only a small child I can remember my older sister doing some oil painting of flowers. I was fascinated and got so close to her she couldn't move her arms. My marks in drawing at school were always high and I can remember drawing my dearest friend in school whom students and teachers instantly recognized. I was most interested in scenery painting but had not much time to devote to it until one winter in need of funds, pictures were painted for produce or money from neighbors and friends. I also made ice box flowers of wood fiber and sold. From the sale of the pictures which made my youngest son and myself quite comfortable that winter."

Josephine's sister Fanny was ill and a near death request was that her husband, Oley Oleson, marry Josephine. Following Fanny's death, Josephine and Oley were married on November 28, 1945.
Josephine and Oley served as missionaries for the church after their marriage. They were married for about 2 years before the death of Josephine Deseret Romrell Sept 27, 1947.
