Alfred Pomerleau 70, a resident of Blake St. Towers in Lewiston, was found dead in his apartment, Tuesday morning, and Dr. J.P. Nadeau, a Medical Examiner, said the cause of death was due to natural causes.

He had taken up residence, only a week ago at the new housing for the elderly project.

Mr. Pomerleau was born at St. Gedeon, Quebec Canada on Jan. 3 , 1899, and was the son of Ferdinand and Desiline Roy Pomerleau and had resided in Lewiston, since 1941.

He was a Baker by trade and was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish and the League of the Holy Name of that church. He enjoyed sports and attended many high school and local semi professional hockey teams that played in Lewiston, including the L&A Twins hockey club. He was an avid scrapbooker and picture collector.

He would always come over for Saturday evening suppers, to enjoy with his son Roland and his family.

His wife the former Bertha Rancourt, died in 1955.

Surviving are two sons, Roland and Patrick Pomerleau, of Lewiston; A Sister Mrs. (George (Elise) Poulin of Jackman. Three brothers, Hormidas of Pittsfield and Felias and Ferdinot, of St. Gedeon, Que. and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul church, internment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Jackman, Me.

Remains are in repose at the Pinette Funeral Home, 87 Bartlett St. Visiting hours 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
