Velma C. Jaeger-Allen-Yerkman, age 95 of The Calumet Homestead, formerly of Chilton, died on Fri. May 14, 2010 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. She was born on October 31, 1914 in Mackville , WI , daughter of Matt & Aurelia (Tremmel) Dorn. On Oct. 24, 1934 she married Henry "Hank" Jaeger, he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1963.
On Jan. 18, 1969 she married Clifford Allen, he preceded her in death on March 6, 1975. On April 21, 1982 she married George Yerkman, he preceded her in death on July 17, 1992. Velma worked for the Chilton Shopping Center for many years, and for 17 years as a radio dispatcher with the Calumet County Sheriff's Dept. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton, and a lifelong member of St. Augustine Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children, Beverly (Christian "Chip") Glasow of Hilbert, and their children, Lori, Lisa, & Richard; James Jaeger of Chilton, and his children, Craig, Marc, Chad, Eric & Holly; Gerald Jaeger (Kay) of New Holstein, and his children, Cory, Jeffery & Robby; David (Sharon) Allen of Chilton, and their children Tim, Tony & Tina; Nancy (Lee) Babcock of Appleton and their children Lynn & Scott; George Yerkman Jr. of Fond du Lac and their children 2; Celinda (Richard) Schwoerer of Manitowoc and their 2 children; Cathy Koerber of Chilton and her 3 children; Tim (Jane) Yerkman of Colorado and their 2 children; Jim (Susan) Yerkman of Chilton and their 3 children; and many great & great-great grandchildren; a sister, Bernie Gaffnee of Kimberly; a brother, Jerry Dorn of Appleton; 2 sisters-in-law, Jonie Schumaker of Appleton, & Evelyn Jaeger of Kaukauna; 2 brothers-in-law, Willy Nennig of Stockbridge, & Dr. Paul Jaeger of Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt & Aurelia Dorn, and by 2 sisters and 6 brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Mon. May 17, 2010 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church ( 62 E. Main St. ) in Chilton, with the Rev Bob Kollath officiating.
Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of services. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the name of Velma Yerkman. Wieting Family Funeral Home of Chilton is assisting the family.
