Mrs. David MacMullan, Longtime Resident of Fort Dodge, Is Dead

Mrs. David MacMullan, 86, a resident of Fort Dodge nearly 60 years, died Sunday at the home of her son, W. E. MacMullan, in Wellsville, Mo. Mrs. MacMullan, who had been visiting her son for two weeks, made her home at 1407 Second avenue north.

She had been in failing health for some time.

Graveside rites will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at North Lawn cemetery. Dr. William T. Paden, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate.

Mrs. MacMullan was an active member of that church and she also was active in the Women’s association.

The Wilder-Bruce funeral home is in charge of the funeral arrangements. The body was brought here by air ambulance Monday and will be at the funeral home until shortly before the hour of the service Tuesday.

Born Feb. 7, 1866, at Eddyville, Ia., Mrs. MacMullan was the former Anna Warner. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. James Warner.

She attended the Eddyville schools and, later, taught in the Wapello county schools for five years. Her marriage to David MacMullan of Fort Dodge took place on Dec. 21, 1892.

Mr. MacMullan died in April of 1948. Her parents also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, W. E. MacMullan of Wellsville; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Helmstetter of Springfield, Ill.; one grand-daughter, Mrs. W. A. Turner of Springfield; one grandson, Warner Avant MacMullan of Wellsville; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. MacMullan was a charter member of both the Up-To-Date club and the local D.A.R. chapter.
