Dennis Victor Boyd, 58, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Kishwaukee Hospital.
Born October 31, 1954, in DeKalb, the son of Victor C. and Delite G. (Reingardt) Boyd, Dennis married Theresa Jo Girton on July 8, 1989, in Dixon.
Dennis was a veteran of the US Army, having served for 22 years. Dennis was a union painter and member of Painters Union District 30. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of VFW Post 2287, both in DeKalb.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Kristin Pilota, and Kelsey and Garrett, both of DeKalb; and grandson, Will Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Craig S. Boyd in 2011.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 7, at First Baptist Church, 349 South Third Street, DeKalb, with the Rev. Bob Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery, DeKalb, with full military honors by the DeKalb Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
