Walter Swann Nicholson, 66 of Dawson, Georgia died peacefully December 5, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Walter was born September 7, 1948 in Cuthbert, Georgia and graduated from Terrell High School in 1966 and Georgia Southwestern College. He was retired as the owner of J & J Mechanical Co. Inc. in Dawson. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawson and Dawson Country Club.
He was the son of the late James Lawrence and Mary Swann Nicholson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Walter Swann Nicholson, Jr. and a brother, Larry Nicholson.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Campbell Nicholson of Dawson; sons, James (Kedron) Nicholson of Orange Park, FL and John (Christian) Nicholson of Wadmalaw Island, SC; grandsons, James Mills Nicholson, Walter Porter Nicholson and Ford Lanier Nicholson; sister, Martha Nicholson Jenkins of Franconia, NH; and in-laws, Billy and Brenda Campbell of Marshallville, GA, Bill and Mary Ann Stone of Moultrie, GA, Juanita Nicholson of Barnesville, GA, and Audrey Campbell of Montezuma, GA.
Services include a visitation to be held at Harvey Funeral Home Monday night, December 8th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. and funeral service Tuesday, December 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Harvey Funeral Chapel.
