Gladys L. DeLong, 95, of Tiffin, passed away May 24, 2015, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Van Wert County, to Gustav and Anna (Werner) Bauer. She married Earl DeLong Aug. 25, 1946. Survivors include her husband, Earl of Tiffin; daughter, Diane (Hank) Hilty; two grandchildren, Christopher and Michael (Katrina) Hilty, all of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Esther Bricker of Kansas City, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Earl; one brother; and three sisters. Gladys graduated from Union Township High School and from Deaconess School of Nursing in Cincinnati. She served in the U.S. Navy as a registered nurse from June 23, 1943, to May 29, 1946. She was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital and Tiffin State Hospital. Gladys volunteered at The Ritz Theatre and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. There will be no visitation or services at this time. Burial will be private at a later date at Taylor Cemetery, Van Wert. Memorial contributions may be made to The Ritz Theatre or a charity of the donor's choice. Hoffman-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
