Sara D. Kennedy, 86 of Phenix City, Alabama died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Gentiva Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Summerville United Methodist Church in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Brady Baird officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. Kennedy was born March 7, 1929 in Covington County, Alabama; daughter of the late John Calvin and Hattie Rebecca Wilson DeShavo. She was a retired educator for the Phenix City School System with 35 years of service. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell L. Kennedy and her daughter, Candy Kennedy Long.
Survivors include her son, Mitchell Kennedy, her grandson, Terry Long and her son-in-law, Donnie Long.
