Sylvester Michael Aldrich, 84, of Orwell, died Thursday at the V.A. Medical Center in Syracuse. He was born on February 10, 1922, in Orwell. He was a life resident of Orwell, and he graduated from Sandy Creek High School. He served in the Army during World War II. He was employed by the New York Central Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1985.

Surviving: one daughter, Nancy (Robert) McWilliams of Williamstown; one sister, Bertha Roberts of Pulaski; two grandchildren, Tina Holmes and Paula Trumble; and five great-grandchildren, Carissa, Erica, Michael, Joey and Autumn. He was predeceased by one son, Michael J. Aldrich, on August 18, 1968.

Private services will be held Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Private calling hours will be held.
