Hannah Frances Cooke, Lanark Lodge, Perth , died in hospital at Perth , Ontario , Friday, Feb. 3, 1978, age 83 after a short illness. Born in Ramsay Township August 24, 1894, Mrs. Cooke was a daughter of the late Arthur McIntyre and his wife, Mary Jane Price. Mrs. Cooke was a graduate of Carleton Place High School, Ottawa Normal School and the University of Guelph . Married to the late Edward Chamney Cooke in 1927 at Carleton Place, Mrs. Cooke taught in the Carleton Place area until her retirement in 1956. She was a member of Rocky Ridge Women's Institute for many years and a member of Zion-Memorial United Church . Mrs. Cooke is survived by her only daughter, Mary Stedman, and two grandchildren, Bruce and Brian Stedman, Don Mills, Ontario . She was predeceased in 1958 by her sister, Amelia (McIntyre) Driskell, Midland , Michigan . The funeral service took place, Sunday, Feb. 5, 1978 , at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place, with Rev. Kenneth J. Murray officiating. The Committal service took place in the chapel and interment will take place in the spring in Boyd's United Cemetery.
