M. David Elliott, 82, of Macon, passed away at 10:25 p.m, Sunday May 29, 2011, in Decatur Memorial Hospital. A celebration of David's life will be at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Maranatha Assembly of God Church with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. till service time at the church. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, IL, with full military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to Maranatha Assembly of God Church. David was born November 19, 1928, in Oconee, IL, the son of Frank and Ada (Stephenson) Elliott. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from L.E. Myers Co. as a master mechanic. He was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church, Blue Mound American Legion, and was a former licensed pilot. He married Peggy (Deaton) McNeely on June 25, 1983. Surviving is his wife Peggy, of Macon; daughter: Debbie Crain and her husband Dan of Decatur; son: Mark Elliott of Decatur; step-sons: James McNeely and his wife Cheryl of Decatur, Paul McNeely and his wife Becky of Moweaqua, IL; step-daughter: Diana Aufrecht and her husband Mark of Christiansburg, VA; brother: Gary Elliott and his wife Mary of Pana, IL; nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren also survive.
