Gary Glenn Cordell, 54, of Ajo, Arizona, died May 19 in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Phoenix, Ariz. He was born in LaFollette, Tennessee, Aug. 20, 1929 and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He moved from LaFollette to Ajo, Arizona in 1946 and retired from Phelp Dodge Corp. New Cornelia Copper Mine in Ajo on Oct. 1, 1983 after 36 years. He was an electrician.
Funeral services were May 23 at First Baptist Church of Ajo with the Rev. Woody Lewis officiating. Graveside services were also May 23 at Ajo Cemetery with the Rev. James Gore of Ajo Heights Baptist Church officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann, of Ajo, Ariz.; three daughters, Kimberly A. Hacker of Gila Bend, Ariz., Virginia G. Wilson of Moab, Utah, and Lydia M. Spencer of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Peggy Williams of Laveen, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
