Well Known Pastor Dies Early Today
BATAVIA. Ia. June 29 - The Rev. Glen Carr (sic), former well known resident of the Batavia community, died suddenly this morning at his home in Lawrenceville, Ill.
The Rev. Mr. Carr was pastor for many years at the Brethren church southeast of Batavia. He lived on a farm near the church and was widely known throughout Jefferson county.
He recently underwent a surgical operation at a hospital in Vincennes, Ind., but was believed to be recovering satisfactorily.
He is survived by his wife and three children: Lee Carr of near Batavia; the Rev. Wayne Carr of Libertyville and Mrs. Julius Phillips of Lakeland, Florida. The two son (sic) left immediately for Lawrenceville this morning.
The Rev. and Mrs. Carr moved to Illinois a few years ago. He was about 62 years of age.
