William Benjamin “Ben” Botkin, 25, of Monterey, passed away, Friday, May 22, 2015. He was born July 11, 1989 in Staunton a son of George Ronald “Ronnie” and Caroline Jean Benson Botkin of Monterey.
Ben was a pipe liner foreman for a natural gas company. He was an avid outdoors man, who especially enjoyed bear hunting, and was also a truck puller. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and National Wild Turkey Federation.
His paternal grandparents, George “Jack” and Charlotte Botkin and maternal grandfather, Les Benson preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Jean Botkin of Seaford, Del., and Emily Charlotte Ashby Botkin McRobie and husband, Jonathon of Elk Garden W.Va.; his brother, Ethan Cole Botkin of Monterey; niece, Adalynn Virginia McRobie; maternal grandmother, Jean Burns Benson of Seaford, Del., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell. Interment will follow in Head Waters Cemetery. Published in The Recorder
