LaMonte L. Jones Jr., 62, of Boonville, passed away on Sunday May 24, 2015 at Parkside Manor in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 1 PM at Morgan Street Baptist Church in Boonville. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM at the church on Saturday.

LaMonte “Beau” Lea Jones was born May 30, 1952 in Boonville, Missouri to the late Lamonte and Rosetta Jones. He was a graduate from Laura Speed Elliott High School, where he spent many days enjoying his favorite game of baseball and spending time with his friends.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, from 1974-1979, where he was stationed in Germany. After retiring from the army, he worked a number of different jobs throughout his lifetime. These jobs included: Kemper Military School, the Hotel Fredrick, construction, nursing, and (before becoming ill) the 87 diner.

In 2014, LaMonte accepted Christ and joined Morgan Street Missionary Church under the direction of Pastor, Bishop Herman D. Ware Jr.

After a long battle with diabetes, he departed this life on May 24, 2015. He leaves to cherish many memories 7 siblings Carmen Jones, Connie Jones, Carol Crook (Terrance), Lawrence Jones, Cynthia Jones, Larry Jones (Paula) all of Boonville, Missouri, and Christine Jones of Columbia, Missouri, 9 niece and nephews Denise Miles (Las Vegas, NV) , Renee Baker(David) of Fort Worth, Texas ,Yolanda Jones, Charmane Ganaway, Lance Freeman, Joshua Jones, Johanna Ganaway, Jasma Ganaway all of Boonville Missouri, Doniale Doxley-Ralls(Marland) of Kansas City, Missouri. 11 great nieces and nephews Jasmyne Chambers, Tymeshia Casey, Daisha Ganaway, Maleik Chambers, Joshua Huskey, Elijah Carter, Sevann Midgyett, Terrence Luther Jr, Zyren Mack, Dez’zon and Ziric Bush; a host of cousins along with other relatives and numerous friends.

LaMonte was preceded in death by his parents.
