"Bare, Alta M., age 94, joined her Lord Saturday July 8 1989 following a long illness...Interment at Crestwood Cemetery. She was born Apr 27, 1895 in Reed City, Michigan the daughter of George and Anna Hoffine. Alta married Wilbur Bare in October 1914. To this union were born six children. Four are now deceased: Anna and Lawrence in infancy, Robert in September 1985 and Warren in July 1988. Surviving children are David of Grand Blanc and Louis of Grand Rapids. Her husband Wilbur preceded her in death in 1957. Other surviving relatives include daughter-in-law Bethany Bare of Mt Morris, 6 granddaughers, 11 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Alta's two brothers Harvey and Floyd and her sister Alice Ansorge also preceded her in death. She made her home in Flint from 1919 until Christmas Day 1939 when she moved to a dairy farm on Holly Road, Holly where she lived until 1983 when she resided with her son Warren in Mt Morris until a stroke confined her to the Kith Haven Nursing Home. She was an active member of Parkland Presbyterian Church in Flint. More recently she was a member of Halsey United Methodist Church." -- The Flint Journal, 9 Jul 1989
