Buck (Harry) was born in St. Augustine Pa. according to his 1942 Draft Registration. He resided for time in Waco, Texas before moving to Lake Wenatchee, Washington. He was an original Forest Service employee in the Lake Wenatchee area from 1922 to 1947. He ran trap lines during the winter along Theseus Creek up the eastern hillside from the Little Wenatchee River, to Lake Theseus. The cabin he used (actually lived in) as a base camp, was located near the junction of Theseus Creek where it met the Little Wenatchee River. He reportedly also had a "Line Shack" halfway up the Eastern slope, en-route to the Lake. I met Buck once when I was about 6 yrs. old, along the trail next to the Little Wenatchee River. Harry had a sister named Mrs. Betty Smith, who passed in Jan. 1955. Betty was born in Waco, Texas. There are no known surviving relatives. Buck left such a big impression on me, that 53 years later I had to find out who "Buck" was. This memorial is the result of that search. A special "Thank You" to R. Siderits another trapper, who knew Buck and helped me immensely. This is my tribute to "Buck".
