Emma Ruth Hobbs, 74, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 25, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at New Elim Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Baggett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 4900 Mercer University Dr., Suite B, Macon GA 31204.

Ruth was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late George and Willie Mae Pickett. She was retired from Sam Hall and Sons Construction as a bookkeeper with twenty five years of service. She was a member of New Elim Baptist Church and was a graduate of Dudley Hughes High School. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Carol) Spires of Byron, Steve Spires of Macon, three grandchildren, Jeffery Spires Jr., Stephanie Spires and Harley Spires, two sisters, Martha P. Rentz and Ann Banknell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono has charge of the arrangements.
