Herbert F. Czaia, 68, died at 9:55 p.m. Monday May 18, 2015 at Calhoun Nursing & Rehab Center

He was born November 17, 1946 in Alton to Virgil F. & Ione C. (Hoyt) Czaia (Both Deceased).

Herb married Marian Blackwell, 1972 in Jerseyville.
He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran Serving from 1966-1970.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Army and civilian life. He was a member of Fieldon Masonic Lodge # 592.

Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Thursday May 21, 2015
at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Masonic Funeral Rites by Fieldon Masonic Lodge were at 4:45 p.m. His funeral was at 10:00 Friday May 22, 2015 at Rosedale Methodist Church.
Military Graveside Rites by Jerseville American Legion Post #492.

The Rev. Udell Meyers officiated. Burial was at the Czaia Family Cemetery.

Besides his wife Marian Czaia, he is survived by three daughters; Amanda Czaia of Alton, IL., Alicia Czaia of Fieldon, IL. and Kacey Hardy of Texas. Two sisters; Esther & Wayne Short of Fieldon, IL. & Neva & David Stokes of Brighton, IL., and two brothers; Roger & Eidth Czaia of Godfrey, IL. and Joe Czaia of Fieldon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his Parents and an Infant Brother.
