Jan. 17, 1931 - May 21, 2015 James Thomas "Tom" Woodall, 84, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, and a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, in a local healthcare facility. Tom spent his childhood years in Bossier City, Louisiana, playing basketball and football in high school. He attended college at Louisiana Tech on a football scholarship. After graduating with a degree in Forestry, he served in the United States Army. Tom received his Master's Degree from Duke University where he met his future wife, Alice Elaine Severance, also a student at Duke. Marrying on December 21, 1956, Tom and Alice moved to Spanish Fort, Alabama. He began working for Scott Paper Company in Mobile, Alabama, in the forestry/woods division in 1956. He retired in 1986 after 30 years of service. Tom enjoyed sailing, managing his timberland, and being with his family.

Tom is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, three sons, two daughters, fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at New Life Assembly of God, in Spanish Fort, officiated by Pastor Ferron Smith. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.
