It seems from all the little stories I learned through the years about my grandmother is that she was an angel saint on earth. She was married twice, once to a man she met in Spain and who subsequently abandoned her with two young children. She immigrated to Cuba and met my grandfather and had at least four other kids. From what my dad said once he had a brother named Alonso but never spoke about him again except that he died young as a little boy. Who knows if this really happened. My aunt a better historian has never mentioned this. I know from what dad says that my grandmother was always praying and had beautiful black long hair she would tie up in a bun. She died at a young age because she had two seizures, the second lead to her death because she drowned as she was washing clothes along side a river when she fell in. My dad was the one that found her lifeless body. I am not sure how my dad managed at the time but I know he has turned out to be a great father and was a great husband till my mother predeceased him. I am thankful for my dad, my uncle and aunts that I love even though one is gone now. My two uncles from my grandmother's first marriage are deceased.
