On Noember 22, 1853 Mr. Sewell married Lucy Kuykendall near Cookville, Tennessee. He entered Burritt College in February, 1856 and then went to Franklin college in September, 1858. At Franklin Mr. Sewell studied under William Lipscomb and Tolbot Fanning. On January 1, 1870 he joined David Lipscomb as coeditor of the "Gospel Advocate" publication. He wrote regularly for this paper for over 50 years. He worked and preached with Dvid Lipscomb all over middle Tennessee during those years.
